Exploring the path from materials and process innovation to commercial application

NANOCYL is a state-of-the-art company that counts among the three world's main actors in the field of carbon nanotubes.  Nanocyl has indeed become a foreground industrial actor following the inauguration, in 2007, of a reactor with a production capacity of 40 tons per year.

In addition to its carbon nanotubes (Nanocyl 7000), Nanocyl also developed a range of new products with high added value containing predispersed carbon nanotube based solutions which are marketed under the names PlastiCyl, EpoCyl, AquaCyl, BioCyl and ThermoCyl.

The products of Nanocyl are used today in the automotive and the electronic industry to answer to anti-static requirements (ESD-electrostatic discharges).

With the miniaturisation of electronic components, the electronic industry is facing challenges to protect devices from electrostatic discharges and overheating. Plastics parts that protect the components have to be cleaner to avoid ionic or metallic contaminations.

By imparting electrical conductivity to the plastic parts at a low loading, carbon nanotubes are extensively used by the industry. OEMs active in Hard Disk drives production, laptop and chips manufacturers are increasingly requiring plastics parts to content carbon nanotubes. As carbon nanotubes are the only known material able to meet these more stringent requirements, they are expected to replace other carbon solutions for ESD on the medium term.

In the automotive industry, carbon nanotubes are used as electrically conductive additives for automotive fuel system lines components requiring electrical conductivity. Carbon nanotubes also impart conductivity to plastic exterior parts subjected to electrostatic painting process, mirror housing and door handles.

Nanocyl produces its carbon nanotubes from Belgium and exports more than 99% of its production. Nanocyl global presence is ensured by local agents, distributors, warehouses in Asia, Europe and the USA.
