Exploring the path from materials and process innovation to commercial application

Chris studied his Bachelor’s, Master’s and D.Phil. at Sussex UniversityUK.

 

After a post-doc at the KTH in Stockholm, he went to work as Manager of the

Polymeric Materials Group at the Institute for Surface Chemistry.

  

Next Chris moved to Electrolux, the World’s largest manufacturer of household appliances to work at their headquarters as Senior Project Manager in the Materials Group.

 

Chris moved to Germany to become Innovation Manager and later Laboratory

Manager for Specialty Polymers at BASF’s headquarters in LudwigshafenGermany.

 

At present Chris works as Chief Scientist for Hybrid Plastics who enhance coatings, thermosets and thermoplastics using their unique POSS® nanoscopic additives.

 

Chris is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Chartered Chemist. He has published book chapters, gives courses, chaired conferences and has given many invited lectures. To-date he has over 30 papers, articles and patent applications. 

His primary areas of research are polymers, composites, antioxidants and surface science. He likes to innovate and has a record of implementing new process and making new products.
